This article tells an inspiring story of a father in Sharorah who faced the challenges of raising a child with autism. His struggle became the driving force behind the establishment of Isnad Association for the Care of Persons with Disabilities. The article highlights the importance of community awareness, the role of families in supporting individuals with special needs, and the power of personal initiatives in creating lasting social change. It delivers a message of hope to every parent facing similar challenges, emphasizing that commitment and generosity can make a profound difference.

Many years ago, amid the serene dunes of Sharorah—the jewel of the Empty Quarter in the far south of our beloved homeland—my journey with hope began at one of the most challenging moments of my life. I had just become a father to a beautiful child who illuminated my world like the sun, yet in his own unique way. When my son was diagnosed with autism, I embarked on a difficult search for a glimmer of hope that could light our path forward.

At first, I faced countless challenges: a lack of awareness and understanding of autism and its treatments, a scarcity of specialized centers and professionals, and the absence of community support. I traveled between cities, knocking on every door that promised even the slightest chance for my child, only to return empty-handed more times than I could count. Still, my responsibility as a father and my unwavering love for my son kept me from giving up.

A Turning Point

During my visits to various specialized centers and clinics outside Sharorah, I observed children learning and interacting. It dawned on me that the solution wasn’t in endlessly searching elsewhere but in creating something within my own city. That was the moment the idea was born.

I returned to Sharorah with a renewed perspective and a profound sense of purpose, determined to change the reality for families of children with disabilities in my community. This mission was bigger than me and my family—it was a cause worth every effort.

The First Steps

I began by gathering all the knowledge I had acquired from rehabilitation centers and experts. I reached out to specialists, doctors, and consultants, knowing that the first step was to establish an entity that could provide continuous support and care—not just for my son, but for every child with a disability. And so, the idea of "Isnad Association for the Care of Persons with Disabilities" was born.

Establishing the association felt like turning a dream into reality. Resources were scarce, and the concept was unfamiliar to many. Yet, I discovered that Sharorah was filled with kind-hearted people eager to contribute—just like so many generous souls across our nation. Volunteers stepped forward without hesitation, families joined the cause, and individuals offered their unwavering support.

Isnad Association: A Collective Success Story

What began as a small family dream has grown into a center that serves over 600 individuals with disabilities. Today, Isnad Association stands as a model for providing top-tier rehabilitation programs and specialized care, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by highly qualified professionals who embody both compassion and excellence.

The association now operates as a large, extended family, embracing children and adults alike, offering education, rehabilitation, and a renewed sense of hope. It brings smiles to faces that were once lost in silence.

A Message to Every Parent

Through this story, I want to say to every parent facing similar challenges: Do not give up. Sometimes, our struggles become the driving force behind our greatest achievements. With every obstacle we encounter, there lies a new opportunity to create meaningful change.

My journey was not just the story of a father and his son—it became a journey of an entire community toward compassion and generosity.
