This article belongs to a series of articles that introduce the second cohort of participants in the Misk Initiatives Incubator 2022, one of Misk Foundation's programs that aims to build the capacity of non-profit youth organizations and guide them towards creating a sustainable social impact.

Today, we will talk about Tramim NPO and their amazing effort in helping restore the homes of struggling families, utilizing the potential of young people, and spreading the concept of collaboration between members of society and various sectors.

Vision & Mission

Tramim’s mission is to bring together the collective efforts of people and organizations from every sector of society to help better the lives of disadvantaged families. To support their vision, they launch and develop various initiatives, expand their network of partners with individuals and supportive institutions, and encourage youth to join in the culture of volunteerism.

The organization emphasizes the importance of improving the living conditions of disadvantaged households by utilizing every available resource to repair and sustain uninhabitable accommodation. This is done to ensure these families can live in acceptable conditions and have a basic standard of living.

Tramim embraces a culture of research and exploration to connect with its target audience, thereby determining the group that deserves assistance for their projects. Not only does this organization actively engage in emergency relief, its operations are geared towards restoring and maintaining the homes of families impacted by floods and fires. The association is highly reliant on the generous contributions of businessmen and institutions in the area to drive its initiatives and projects. Furthermore, they employ trained volunteers to assist with home renovations - making it an invaluable resource in the region.

With its strategic road map, Tramim aims to become a sustainable business, ensure that it follows the most effective institutional practices, and guarantee that its services are of superior quality.

Programs & Initiatives

The organization's training program attracts volunteers, adults and youngsters in the area to build their practical skills by working on activities such as plumbing, electrical work, and painting. The program has been successful in achieving these goals with the aim to provide their beneficiaries with the highest quality of services.

The Impact

Tramim encourages young people in the area to get involved with volunteer work, so they are able to contribute their time and effort for their own advantages and the benefits of their neighborhoods. Through the hard work of their volunteers, the organization managed to rehabilitate and maintain 5 homes which provided a safe living environment for 52 individuals. The volunteer team was made up of over 133 members with backgrounds in engineering, technical, and administrative fields.

The Audience

Tramim is a community organization that engages with two different groups. Primarily, it works to provide housing assistance to underprivileged families living in rundown homes by renovating and sustaining them. The second group of people the organization works with are volunteers, who receive training to improve their skills so they can assist in the restoration operations.

Challenges

With Tramim's development, one of the biggest hurdles to overcome is finding a sustainable source of funding. To solve this, they are looking to employ fixed assets and income-generating endowments which will help them secure the necessary resources for their operations and ensure the organization can continue to grow.

The organization has put some practical tools in place to be able to predict and prepare for any hurdles it might face. Such tools involve exploration of the field, analyzing past records and data, and references from other related organizations in the area.

Tramim has ambitions to grow its network of collaborative partners, secure continual funding, and improve the training initiatives for employees and volunteers. In doing so, it hopes to provide top-notch services and to become a model organization in the non-profit sector.

We're proud of the quality of services we provide to those in need, and it's incredibly satisfying when our hardworking team succeeds in their mission. Seeing the joy on family members' faces as they settle into their new homes is something that fills us with great joy.

Our group is committed to teamwork and philanthropy. We strive for excellence and are always willing to go beyond the call of duty, putting others before ourselves. Altruism is our top priority.
What advice do you give to Saudi youth?
The impact of volunteer work is not limited to the beneficiary only, but also to the volunteer himself, whether during his life or after his death.
